Computers are a combination of electronic and mechanical components, that endure a lot of stress from daily usage.

Some faults are clear-cut to diagnose. For example, a cosmetic fault such as a broken screen on a laptop, broken and missing keys from a laptop keyboard, a broken USB or power socket. You can clearly see the damage and what needs to be replaced or repaired.
Some faults, however, could have several possible causes. For example, if you have a computer running slower than normal, this could be a hardware or software issue at source. A slow-running computer could have a problematic hard disk drive. Or, there may be some malware slowing down the operating system severely.
